Another Significant Step Forward for Croatian Shipbuilding in the Norwegian Market
On Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, the GRADNJA125 vessel was successfully launched at the Tehnomont Shipyard in Pula. This hybrid single-hull motor vessel, designed to supply fish farms, was built for a Norwegian client under the supervision of the Norwegian Maritime Directorate.
The launch took place during regular working hours, within the shipyard premises, and in a work-focused setting. It was attended by representatives of the client, the shipyard, and key technical staff. Although closed to the general public, the event was carried out extremely successfully – with precise coordination and safe execution of all phases of the launch.
This is yet another in a series of successful side launches at Tehnomont, accomplished in technical collaboration with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FSB), University of Zagreb. Their expertise significantly contributed to the safety and precision of the entire operation.
The GRADNJA125 was built according to the highest standards of contemporary shipbuilding, with a strong emphasis on environmental efficiency, operational reliability, and long service life.
The vessel is powered by two highly efficient Danfoss EM-PM/540-T4000 electric motors, each rated at 716 kW, enabling a top speed of 12 knots.
Its steel hull combined with an aluminum alloy wheelhouse ensures optimal structural strength while minimizing the weight of the superstructure – a key factor for the vessel’s stability and performance.
Main technical specifications:
• Length overall: 26.00 m
• Beam overall: 12.40 m
• Height to main deck: 5.50 m
• Maximum draught: 4.50 m
• Propulsion: 2 × Danfoss electric motor (716 kW @ 1500 rpm)
• Maximum speed: 12 knots
• Navigation area: 6
• Material: Steel / Aluminum alloy (wheelhouse)
• Flag upon delivery: Norway
Management Statement
On the occasion of the successful launch, Tehnomont’s management expressed appreciation to all employees, partners, and the client for their valuable cooperation:
“This vessel is yet another testament to the capabilities of Croatian shipbuilding to meet the specific demands of the Northern European market. We are proud to have successfully launched a project that brings together advanced technology, precise execution, and sustainability.”
Following the launch, GRADNJA125 enters its final outfitting phase, technical trials, and preparations for delivery.
The vessel is expected to begin operation later this year, serving fish farms in Norway’s demanding coastal waters — where reliability, strength, and sustainability are essential.
